I’m a freelance journalist and editor based in San Antonio. My culture reporting, interviews, and reviews have appeared in BOMB, Kirkus Indie Book Reviews, the Onion A.V. Club (Austin), Spin.com, and Soundcheck Magazine, among other publications.

Previously, I worked as a government reporter for the Williamson County Sun newspaper, the assistant editor of San Antonio magazine, and the music and film editor of the San Antonio Current. I hold a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University, New York, NY.

Areas of specialization include: album, book, concert, film and restaurant reviews; author and musician interviews; city politics reporting; court and crime reporting; local election coverage; police and sheriff department reporting; and let’s not forget the Texas State Board of Education.

I also have extensive experience with the Associate Press (AP) Stylebook and the Chicago Manual of Style.

In addition to my journalism work, I have assisted many San Antonio-based businesses and non-profit organizations in publicizing art exhibitions, concerts, fundraising galas, store openings, and other events, as well as providing copy editing and writing for  Contemporary Art Month, Green Spaces Alliance, Italian Fix, Martinez Street Women’s Center, MBS Fitness, and SMART SA,
