In October-November 2011, San Antonio’s SateFL!GHT gallery hosted INSIDE/OUTSIDE, a group show of eight contemporary Burmese painters living and working inside their home country. Pansodan Gallery in Yangon, Burma supplied INSIDE/OUTSIDE with nearly thirty works ranging in size and theme. Abstraction and invention unify the paintings, rare traits in Burma’s small and traditional visual arts community.
Only eight pieces remain from the show, all modestly priced for the skill and acclaim of their artists. In order to keep INSIDE/OUTSIDE’s mission of exposing these contemporary artists to a larger viewer and collector base, we are selling the remaining paintings for a limited time within the United States. Although the Burmese economy fluctuates, it’s safe to say that the proceeds from any of these paintings could fund the artist for one week to four months, or longer. All prices include shipping and delivery. With the exception of watercolors, work is not permanently framed.

SAW LIN AUNG
Saw Lin Aung grew up in the river town of Twante helping his father, a movie poster painter. Both influences can be seen in his eye-catching paintings of boats on the water. He was a classmate of Eain Aye Kyaw at the State School of Fine Art and has exhibited extensively in Yangon and also in Hong Kong, New York City and Princeton.
