I launched Make Change, an online magazine about conscious consumerism and personal finance, for our partner company, Aspiration. I developed the editorial plan, budget, and staff, oversaw all our content, recruited contributors, and assisted in growing our digital audience.

Managed a staff of four full-time employees and seven freelance contributors, oversaw the majority of content on GOOD’s website (features, columns, and brief articles), developed deadlines, coordinated with the art director, social media strategists, and copy editors.

San Antonio Current weekly newspaper, San Antonio, Tex., March 2013-August 2014
Managed a staff of seven full-time employees, oversaw all aspects of the Current’s print and digital journalism, recruited and managed freelance writers, contributed several articles, made public and media appearances, functioned as liaison between the editorial department and the publisher.

Promoted to editor position from staff writer (city/state political beat), developed and wrote articles for each issue, assigned and managed freelance writing assignments, cultivated a team of 12 regular freelance writers, planned and executed associated public music events, copyedited as needed, planned and wrote the annual music award issue, blogged regularly.
